A. Glenn Prough, 82, of Gretna Springs, Manheim, died Friday, March 31, 2017 at the Good Samaritan Hospital (Wellspan) in Lebanon.  He was the son of the late Jacob C. and Daisy Alice (Crotsley) Prough.  Glenn was married to Dolores M. (Jacka) Prough for over 62 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children: Dorinda F. Peterson (wife of Steven), of Elizabethtown, and Jason H. Prough (husband of Kate), of Mechanicsburg, as well as 5 grandchildren: Dirk Peterson, and partner Justin Seibert; Rebecca Prough, wife of Torsten Nehr; Erin (Prough) Kleinbohl, wife of Philip;  and Sophia & Gabriel Prough. Glenn was preceded in death by 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and son, Robert.

He graduated from Orbisonia High School (Huntingdon County) in 1952. He also completed an advanced training computer program after high school. Glenn then went to work at the Masonic Homes in Elizabethtown, where he met his future wife. They were married October 12, 1953. Glenn served in the U.S. Army from March 1957 until February 1959, stationed in Orleans, France. He was a member of a transportation unit, working both as an office clerk and a driver. He then returned to the Masonic Homes through 1963. Glenn then went to work at National Standard, Mount Joy, where he was a wire production specialist and a supervisor, retiring in 1996 (as Mount Joy Wire). In retirement Glenn continued working at Weaber Lumber as a night guard for 13 years.

Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend a viewing at Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022, 717-367-1543 on Friday, April 7, 2017 between 2:00-4:00 PM.  Private Interment will be at the convenience of the family.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff of Good Samaritan Hospital for the loving, expert care he received in his final days. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Glenn’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
