Arthur M. Painter, Jr.

Arthur M. Painter, Jr., 96, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 15, 2019 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown.  Born Friday, June 30, 1922 in Elizabethtown, he was the son of the late Arthur M. Painter, Sr. and Louetta (Shank) Painter.  He was married to Kathryn M. (Nace) Painter until her death on October 6, 2011.  Arthur and Kathryn met while roller-skating and were married for over 67 years.

Arthur was a 1940 graduate of Elizabethtown High School and went on to proudly serve with the U.S. Navy during WWII.  He was a member of the Elizabethtown American Legion Post 329, Elizabethtown VFW and the Abraham C. Treichler Lodge No. 682, F & AM, Elizabethtown. 

He is survived by three daughters: Vonnie Chapman, wife of Mike; Sandy Weber, wife of Carl, and Brenda Drescher, wife of John, all of Elizabethtown.  Also surviving are six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; seven step-great grandchildren and a brother, Ronald Painter, of Elizabethtown.

A Memorial Service will begin promptly at 1 PM on Monday, April 22, 2019 in Sell Chapel at Masonic Village, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA  17022 with Pastor Michael Walker officiating.  Visitation will be held following the service on Monday.  Private burial will take place in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens, Columbia, at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements have been entrusted with the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022, 717-367-1543.
