BETTY CORNELIA (LOGSDON) SIMMS was born May 3, 1935 in Holdrege, Nebraska and died May 4, 2017 at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania.

Betty was raised in Los Angeles, California where she graduated nursing school in 1956.  In 1958 she married George Simms, and they moved to Zurich, Switzerland and later to Hong Kong for medical missionary work.  Returning to the United States in 1969, Betty and George settled down in San Diego, where she was office nurse and business manager in George’s private medical practice.  In the 1980’s, Betty and George’s work took them to Tulsa, Oklahoma; Worcester, Massachusetts; and Cambridge, Massachusetts.  While in the Boston area, Betty opened her own chocolate candy making business.  In 1985, Betty and George moved to Hershey, Pennsylvania, where George joined the Faculty of Penn State College of Medicine.  They moved to the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania in 2008, where Betty stayed until her death.

A Memorial Service will be held in Sell Chapel at Masonic Village, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA  17022 at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 13, 2017.  Dr. Simms will greet friends before the service, beginning at 12:30 PM.  Arrangements have been entrusted with the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022, 717-367-1543.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Betty’s honor may be made to Masonic Village Hospice, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA  17022.
