Bevleen Y. (Mentzer) Leib

Bevleen Y. (Mentzer) Leib, 55, of Elizabethtown, died unexpectedly at her home of natural causes on Tuesday, March 14, 2017.  Born Wednesday, September 27, 1961 in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Daniel T. and Margaret Y. (Snyder) Mentzer.  She was married to Michael T. Leib for over 30 years.

In addition to her husband, Michael, she will be lovingly missed by a daughter, Lori Leib, fiancé of John George, III and a son, Daniel Leib, all of Elizabethtown.  Also surviving are a grandson, Warren Leib and two brothers, Patrick and Michael Mentzer.

Bevleen enjoyed crocheting, arts and crafts and painting ceramics.  She also enjoyed playing with her grandson, Warren and sneaking treats to him while he played on the swingset and slide.  Bevleen and Warren also loved taking the dog, Gunner, out to play in the snow as well as play fetch.

Mrs. Leib was a diabetic since she was 9 years old and had other various medical conditions but her family never heard her complain.  She always learned and used her experiences to teach others.  One of Bevleen’s proudest accomplishments was going back to school at York Technical Institute (YTI) in her 40’s and was the recipient of the Recognition of Excellence Award at YTI in 2007.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, March 24, 2017 at the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022, 717-367-1543.  Burial will follow in the Millersville Mennonite Cemetery.  A viewing will be held from 10 AM until the time of the service on Friday.

Bevleen had a true love for animals and always treated them the way she wanted to be treated.  Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Humane League of Lancaster County, 2195 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA  17602.
