Carl L. Price, 79, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2015. Born on June 21, 1936 in Pottsville, PA. He was the son of Franklin William Price and Sara Josephine Price. Carl’s father died prior to his birth. At the age of 3 months, he was placed in the Bethany Children’s Home, Womelsdorf, PA.

He was baptized and received his confirmation in the United Church of Christ. Carl attended and completed kindergarten through ninth grade under the Heidelberg Township Public School System of Womelsdorf, PA. He attended the Patton School at Elizabethtown, PA from August 1952 until graduation on May 29, 1955 with a high school diploma, and completed a three-year apprenticeship course in the trade of carpentry. He then attended Elizabethtown College from the fall of 1955 until the spring of 1956, thereby completing his first year of college. Carl went on to join the United States Air Force in September 1956 on active duty status and became a jet mechanic with crew chief responsibilities.

In September 1960, he was released from active duty in the United States Air Force to return to continue his college education. He received an honorable discharge after completing inactive reserve duty from September 1960 to September 1962. He graduated from Elizabethtown College on August 23, 1963 with a Bachelor of Science Degree.

Employed in March 1964 by Ray Klump, Inc. Later the name was changed to Buckwalter Construction Inc. Carl was involved in office management and construction contract procurements. He retired in March 1996.

Carl was a member and long-term officer of the Milton Grove Sportsmen’s Club, a member of the Lancaster Lions Club, a member of the Elizabethtown Moose Lodge #596, and a member of the Central Penn Fitness Center.

He enjoyed completing construction projects for friends, bowling, hunting at his camp in Tioga County, PA, and hunting as a guest on land located near Cooperstown, NY.

Carl never knew his next of kin, but had many caring friends.

Services will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 N. Market St., Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
