Charles L. Myers, Jr.

Charles L. Myers, Jr., 83, of Elizabethtown, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus, on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Huntingdon, PA, he was the son of the late Charles L. Myers, Sr. and Rita E. (Woods) Myers. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary M. (Knable) Myers.

Charles loved studying his Bible daily and sharing the word of God with others. He was a member of Newville Bible Church and served as a deacon, beside his friend and pastor, Edward Eifert.

Charles was a retired veteran of the U.S. Army. He served from 1950-1970, which includes service in the Korean War and Vietnam War.

He was an avid Braves fan and Penn State fan. He enjoyed relaxing in his chair and watching a good ball game.

In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by two daughters: Cathy A. Meyers, wife of Stanley, of Manheim, and Janet E. Smith, wife of Paul, of Harrisburg; seven grandchildren: Charles “Ike”, Carrie, Amanda, Rebecca, Jonathan, Sherrie and Joshua; eight great grandchildren: Trent, Paris, Skyler, Wylie, Cayden, Morgan, Devin, and Christopher; five siblings: George F. Myers, John A. Myers, Sr., Donald L. Myers, Bernard J. Myers, and Barbara J. Mull. He was predeceased by his son Charles “Ike” Elida Myers, Sr. and sister Janet M. Waters.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday October 15, 2015 at Newville Bible Church, 819 Turnpike Rd, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 with Pastor Edward H. Eifert officiating. A viewing will be held the hour prior to the service from 10-11 AM. Burial will follow in Mount Tunnel Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 N. Market St., Elizabethtown, PA 17022.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Newville Bible Church.
