Charles W. “Bud” Jamison, 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown.  Born Sunday, October 31, 1926 in Campbelltown, PA, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Emma (Eckert) Jamison. He was married to Mildred W. (Walters) Jamison on March 4, 1950.

A licensed pilot at the age of 16 and a Veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict, Bud proudly served as a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. After his military service, Bud’s passion for flying and planes led to his lifetime career as an aeronautical engineer, working at the Olmsted Air force Base and the New Cumberland Army Depot. Evenings and weekends, Bud could most often be found enjoying his favorite hobby, “fixing something”, another airplane or maybe a neighbor’s broken vacuum cleaner.

Bud had many interests and enjoyed contributing to the community. He was a founding member and post commander of Post 831 American Legion in Campbelltown, PA, a 32nd degree Mason of Brownstone Lodge #666 in Hershey, PA, and a volunteer tour guide at The Cornwall Iron Furnace Museum, just to name a few of his many interests and commitments.

In addition to his devoted wife of nearly 67 years, he will be lovingly missed by two children: Sandra L. Snider and husband, Thomas G., of Virginia Beach, VA and Richard L. Jamison, of Lebanon, his sister, Esther Gordon, Harrisburg, PA, and his many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Bud’s life will be held at Noon on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the Lawn Evangelical Congregational Church, in Lawn, PA (Rte. 241). Reverend William E. Stoffel, Ed.D., will be officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family at the church on Saturday from 11 am until the time of the service. Arrangements have been entrusted with the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022, 717-367-1543

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bud’s honor to Masonic Village Hospice, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA  17022.
