Darwyn L. Shipe, 80, of Elizabethtown, died on Monday, November 11, 2019 at Brethren Village where he had been a resident since 2012. Dar was born on September 9, 1939 in Lemoyne the son of the late Arthur Shipe and Mary (Lehman) Shipe. He was married to Betsy (Wenger) Shipe for 54 years.
Dar attended West Fairview and West Shore Schools. He was drafted into the Army in 1963 and served 20 years. Following his military retirement, he was employed by Wenger Feeds. He was a member of St. Paul’ United Methodist Church, Elizabethtown.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Karen Quinn and husband Gerry of Millersville; his son Greg Shipe and wife Jeanette (Blowers) of Elizabethtown and four grandchildren: Alex Quinn of Fort Lewis, WA; Claire Quinn, Katelyn Shipe and Loren Shipe.
Dar was also predeceased by a brother Ben Shipe.
The family wishes to extend their thanks and appreciation to the staff of Brook Place North for the compassionate care given Dar.
