Elam R. Eberly

Elam R. Eberly, 79, a resident of Longwood Manor, Maytown and formerly of Colebrook Road, Elizabethtown, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy.  Born Friday, June 24, 1938 in Durlach, PA, he was the son of the late Earl H. and Edna (Redcay) Eberly.  He was married to Anna Mae (Fittery) Eberly for over 54 years until her passing on Sunday, January 1, 2012.

Elam retired from Tyson Foods, New Holland where he worked as a long distance truck driver for over 30 years.  Prior to Tyson Foods, he worked on the family farm in Berks County.  In his early years, he was an active member of the United Christian Church and went on to attend Faith Bible Church, Mount Joy.  Above all, he will be remembered as a devoted husband and loving father, grandfather, brother and friend.

He is survived by three children: Beverly S. Stauffer, wife of David, of Ickesburg; Stephanie A. Ebersole, wife of Robert, of Hummelstown and Dwane L. Eberly, husband of Karen, of Elizabethtown.  Also surviving are eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren and siblings: Eva Bauman, Pastor Eli Eberly, Edith Redcay, Erma Long and Elaine Zook.  In addition to his loving and devoted wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey L. Eberly, who passed away in 1977 and a sister, Esther Boll.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM on Friday, December 22, 2017 at Faith Bible Church, 2075 Harrisburg Avenue, Mount Joy, PA  17552 with Pastor Shawn P. Madrid and Pastor Eli R. Eberly officiating.  Burial will follow in Shenks Community Church Cemetery, Elizabethtown.  A viewing will be held at the church on Thursday evening from 6-8 PM and also at the church on Friday morning from 9 AM until the time of the service.  Arrangements have been entrusted with the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022, 717-367-1543.
