Elizabeth Ann "Liz" (Berke) Fite

September 19, 1946 ~ August 13, 2015 (age 68) 68 Years Old

Elizabeth Ann (Berke) Fite

Elizabeth Ann (Berke) Fite, 68, of Dauphin, went to be with the Lord on August 13, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born September 19, 1946 in Philadelphia to the late Charles F. and Annie G. Berke.  She was united in marriage to Ronald G. Fite for 45 wonderful years.

Liz was a 1964 graduate of the Delaware County Christian School.  She went on to graduate from Bryn Mawr Hospital School of Nursing in 1966 with an RN Degree.  Liz’s life was a life devoted to serving and loving others.  This path of devotion began when she became a Parish Nurse with St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church on Front Street in Harrisburg for many years.  For the past 15 years, Liz was the Director of Health Care Ministries at Christian Life Assembly in Camp Hill.

Some of her many loves included, first and foremost, her Lord Jesus Christ, her family, her church family and the hundreds of people whose lives were touched through her many medical mission trips to Africa and Indonesia.  She treasured her grandchildren and spending time with her horse, cats and the family dog, Molly.  Liz enjoyed spending time at the family cabin in Sullivan County, on Lake Mokoma.  Liz also enjoyed time spent in Maine, North Carolina and Florida as well as simply sitting on her porch in Dauphin.

In addition to her devoted husband, Liz will be lovingly missed by her two sons, whom she was so proud of, Nathan L. Fite and wife Angela, of Shermansdale; Benjamin R. Fite and fiancé Diane Hartman, of Dauphin and was the proud Grammy of five beautiful grandchildren: Alexanne, Laurel, and Carleah Fite as well as Dalten and Nicholas Zehring.  She is also survived by her twin sister, Andrea (Berke) Slaten of Elkton, MD and a sister-in-law, Marliss Berke of Forksville, PA as well as Liz’s extended family.  She was predeceased by her brother, Charles A. Berke.

A Memorial Service celebrating Liz’s life will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Christian Life Assembly, 2645 Lisburn Road, Camp Hill, PA  17011 with Pastor Steve Forry officiating.  Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family at the church on Saturday from 9 AM until the time of the service.  Private burial will be at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022.

Kindly omit flowers and consider making a donation in Liz’s honor to “Water Carrier”, Africa Oasis Project, Code 316963(71), 1445 Boonville Avenue, Springfield, MO  65802, www.WaterCarrier.org.  Condolences and memories may be shared at www.millerfuneralhome.com
