ESTHER C. GEBHARD

Esther Clara Shellenberger Gebhard, age 102, formerly of Elizabethtown passed away on Monday, October 21, 2013 at the Mennonite Home, Lancaster.

She was the wife of the late Harry L. Gebhard who passed away in 1972.

Esther was born in Oakland Mills, PA, daughter of the late Henry B. and Clara (Musser) Shellenberger.

She had attended Word of Life Chapel, Bainbridge and when no longer able to attend she enjoyed David Jeremiah and Calvary Church, Lancaster, on the radio.

In the past she had worked for Savoy Shoe Co. in Elizabethtown and retired from the Beford Shoe Co.  She was a member of the American War Mother’s and enjoyed traveling, bowling and playing Dominos.

Surviving are five children Helen Gramm of Mt. Joy, Harold L. Gebhard and his wife Lelia of Pensacola, FL, Hazel Chapin and her husband David of Mt. Joy, Hilma Mumma and her husband Clay of Mt. Joy, Howard  M. Gebhard and his wife Beth of Ephrata, a daughter-in-law Katherine Gebhard, 12 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 27 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son Herman T. Gebhard, a son-in-law Gerald Gramm, three grandsons, two sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Monday, October 28, 2013 in the Miller-Sekely Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Elizabethtown.

Visitation will be from 10am until 11am on Monday in the funeral home.
