Lois S. (Stauffer) Nissley, 84, formerly of Elizabethtown, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Landis Homes Retirement Community, Lititz.  Born Tuesday, April 18, 1933 in Manheim Township, she was the daughter of the late Norman E. and Grace C. (Stehman) Stauffer.  She was married to Harold M. Nissley and together they celebrated 58 years of marriage on November 1, 2016.

Lois graduated from Lancaster Mennonite High School in 1951.  Prior to marriage, she was worked as a nurse’s aide and was also a receptionist in a doctor’s office.  Following her marriage, Lois was homemaker for most of her life and also helped her husband on their farm for over 40 years.  She enjoyed farm life especially working on the tractor and helping to milk.  She was a charter member of Farm Women of Dauphin County, Chapter #16 for many years.  She was also a member of Locust Lane Chapel, Harrisburg and after moving to Landis Homes Retirement Community, she and Harold attended White Oak Church of the Brethren, Manheim.

Lois and Harold enjoyed traveling including trips to Europe as well as visiting nieces, nephews and cousins across the U.S. and British Columbia.  Camping was also a favorite of her and Harold as well as spending the month of February in Florida.

In addition to her husband of nearly 59 years, she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as her extended family and caring friends.  The last of four siblings, Lois was preceded in death by Melvin Stauffer, Arlene Longenecker and Harold Stauffer.

A Graveside Service will be held at 3 PM on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 in the East Petersburg Mennonite Cemetery, 6279 Main Street, East Petersburg, PA  17520.  Arrangements have been entrusted with the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022, 717-367-1543. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Lois’s memory to the Caring Fund at Landis Homes Retirement Community, 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz, PA  17543.
