Lois Faye (Smith) Thomas

Lois Faye (Smith) Thomas, 93, of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, May 8, 2015 in the Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill. She was born November 5, 1921 in Upland, CA to Joseph A. and Francis (Smith) Smith. She was predeceased by her loving husband Rev. Erwin W. Thomas in 2000.

Lois was a pastor’s wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. For many years her home was in Nappanee, Indiana. In later years, she was employed in retail.  She was a member of the Grantham Brethren in Christ Church.

She is survived by a brother, Rev. Donald P. Smith; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Smith; 5 children, Marilyn Wingert (Marlin) of Chambersburg, PA; Dwight (Carol) Thomas of Elizabethtown, PA; R. Gene (Deborah) Thomas of Washington D.C.; Cynthia Thomas of Philadelphia, PA; and Michael (Diane) Thomas of Trophy Club, TX; 7 grandchildren, Holly (Mark) Himelfarb; Heidi (Eric) Risser; Amy (Jeff) Bert; Matthew Thomas; Ryan (Lindsay) Thomas; Clark (Meredith) Thomas; Brice Thomas; James Thomas; and Maya Thomas; 6 great-grandchildren, Luke and Austin, Addison and Zachary, Connor and Ella.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 16th at 3:00 PM at Messiah Village Chapel, 100 Mount Allen Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 with Rev. Robert Ives officiating. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 2:00 PM until time of the service. Burial will follow in the Grantham Memorial Park Cemetery, Grantham.
