Margaret B. “Peggy Jo” McSparren Smith (Brinser), 76, of Elizabethtown, passed away at her home on Friday, May 20, 2016. Born in Sunbury, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Hannah (Lindell) Brinser. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 19 years, Robert T. Smith. They were married on Valentine’s Day in 1997.

Peggy Jo worked as the Administrative Assistant to the Director of Admissions  at Elizabethtown College, and she was the secretary of the Alumni Association of Elizabethtown High School. She loved her town, and had an extensive knowledge of it’s history and it’s people. Peggy Jo was also a charter member of the Willow Wood Swim Club, and was on their Board of Directors. She will be remembered as an animal lover, who especially loved her pet cats.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son Clark L. McSparren of Elizabethtown, as well as extended family and caring friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Christ Church United Church of Christ, 247 S. Market St., Elizabethtown, PA 17022, with Reverend Dr. Galen E. Russell III officiating.  Visitation will be held from 10:30-11 prior to the service. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 N. Market St., Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
