 Nina E. (Evalt) Vought

Nina E. (Evalt) Vought, 77, of Mount Joy, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Hospice and Community Care, Mount Joy. She was born Sunday, January 9, 1938 in Lancaster to the late John P. Evalt and Madeline N. (Siebert) Landis. She was married to William S. Vought Jr. on June 9, 1962.

Nina grew up in Elizabethtown and was a 1955 graduate of Lancaster Catholic High School. She went on to work for two years as a lab technician at the Research Center of Armstrong World Industries. Following her employment with Armstrong, Nina entered West Chester State College and graduated in 1961 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education.

Mrs. Vought worked for over 20 years as an income tax preparer for H&R Block and for many years volunteered her time for VITA, a program for income tax assistance for seniors. In the early 90’s, she started her own income tax preparation business and retired after the 2010 tax season.

Nina was an avid square dancer for over 30 years. She and her husband loved traveling with their travel trailer throughout the USA and Canada. In 2013 they moved from Landisville to Mount Joy Country Homes retirement community. Nina was of the Catholic Faith.

She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 53 years, William S. Vought Jr., of Mount Joy; a cousin, George Evalt, of Detroit, MI as well as her extended family and caring friends.

A Christian Prayer Service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, May 8, 2015 at Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 with the Rev. Steven W. Fauser officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery, Elizabethtown. Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to view at the funeral home from 1:30 PM until the time of the service on Friday.
