Pearl Anna Monahan, 89, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 26, 2015 at Masonic Village with her loving family at her side.  She was born Tuesday, March 16, 1926 in Philadelphia to the late Harry A. and Mary A. (Demeir) Monahan.

 

Pearl had worked in the supermarket business since 1949.  She was employed at Penn Fruit Company, Philadelphia, Fleming Company, King of Prussia as well as Foodland Supermarket, Lebanon, until her retirement.

 

Pearl was Catholic and was very strong in her faith and her devotion to her daily rosary that gave her courage, strength, guidance and prayer to accept her illness through life.  She was also a longtime member of St. Peters Catholic Church, Elizabethtown.

 

She will be lovingly missed by a brother, Elmer Monahan and wife Darlene, of Elizabethtown; two sisters, Florence McKnight, of Elizabethtown, Ruth Mallanson, of Grantville; Nephews, Ronald Monahan and wife Judy, Donald McKnight and wife Michelle, Bruce McKnight and wife Kathi; Nieces, Connie Hayden, Karen Reigle and husband Ken, Diane Ruggles and husband Jack, Susie Miller and husband Scott; 11 great nieces and nephews, 15 great-great nieces and nephews as well as Pearl’s extended family and caring friends.

 

She also leaves behind an extended family from Masonic Village.  A heartfelt thank you from her family with sincere appreciation and gratitude is extended to the staff, aids and nurses on Washington 2 and Washington 3, who gave Pearl excellent care for the past five years.  The family could not have done it without you.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at St. Peters Catholic Church, 904 Mill Road, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 with the Rev. Steven W. Fauser as Celebrant.  Burial will follow in St. Peters Catholic Cemetery, Elizabethtown.  Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to view at St. Peters from 10 AM until the time of the Mass on Thursday.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022.
