Russell E. Fehr

Russell E. Fehr, 96, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown.  He was born Sunday, May 25, 1919 in Reading to the late Paul and Irene (DeTemple) Fehr.  He was predeceased by his loving wife Ruth Elizabeth (Kauffman) Fehr in 2013.  Ruth and Russ were married April 8, 1944 and enjoyed a long and happy life together. 

He is survived by two children, Joanne Ranson and James Fehr and wife Carol; a grandson, Trevor Fehr; and three siblings, John Fehr, Dorothy Manwiller and husband Jack, and Mary DeSimone.  He was predeceased by son-in-law, Bruce Ranson and two siblings, Richard Fehr and Ethel Rickert. 

Russell retired from Olmstead Air Force Base where he was employed as a civilian helicopter mechanic.  He was a faithful member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church.  He loved working outside, but most importantly, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. 

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 11 AM at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 125 E. High St., Elizabethtown 17022 with Rev. A.J. Domines officiating.  Friends and family are invited for visitation from 10 AM until time of the service.  Burial will follow the memorial service in Spangsville Cemetery, Oley, PA. Arrangements have been entrusted to Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 N. Market St., Elizabethtown 17022.   

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church Music Fund.
