Yvonne M. (Andrews) Kain

Yvonne M. (Andrews) Kain, 60, of Elizabethtown, died on Thursday, April 19, 2018. Born February 28, 1958 in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Dale and Joan (Floyd) Andrews. 

Vonnie was a 1976 graduate of Elizabethtown Area High School and a 1980 graduate of Millersville University. She began her working career as an elementary school teacher and, most recently, had been employed by UPMC Pinnacle as Coordinator of Volunteer Services. 

Vonnie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Camp Hill, and derived much strength from her faith and church community. Vonnie’s most cherished activity was being with her grandchildren. Known as “Mimi,” she was an engaged, affectionate and beloved grandmother. She had a fondness for flowers and tended to her yard with great care. Vonnie enjoyed decorating her home, especially during the Christmas season. Her appreciation for people was shown by the many social gatherings she hosted, and she enjoyed reminiscing about her time growing up in Elizabethtown. 

In addition to her husband Barry, of 31 years, Vonnie is survived by her three stepsons: John Kain (Kerry) of Manor, PA; Mark Kain (Marcus) of Selinsgrove and Dirk Kain (Nadia) of Chattanooga, TN; Five grandchildren: Katie Hines, Caroline Kain, Lauren Kain, Nori Kain and Hudson Kain; and her brother, Jeff Andrews, of Elizabethtown.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on May 26 from noon to 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2000 Chestnut Street, Camp Hill, PA 17011.  Service and interment will be private.
