JOHN W. LOWELL, IV
John W. Lowell, IV, 66, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at Hershey Medical Center. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late John W., III and Freeda Denlinger Lowell. He was the husband of Victoria K. Pineda Lowell. They were married for 45 years in June 2008. John was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Elizabethtown. He was a 1964 graduate of the Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology. Now retired, John was employed as a mechanic by the former John E. Landis Co. for over 30 years. He was an avid fly fisherman and enjoyed tying flies. John was a strong believer in catch and release fishing. He was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by by two sisters, Christine Bertz and Marianne Ulmer. Surviving are his wife Victoria, two sons, John W., V, James K. and Lauri A. Lowell; a granddaughter, Amanda Gotshall and a great granddaughter, Rosa. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Historic St. Peter Catholic Church, One St. Peter Place, Elizabethtown at 11:00 AM. There will be no viewing and interment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 630 Janet Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17601.
