FANNYE PINDAR KAHL
Fannye Pindar Kahl, 96, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Lancaster, died on June 28, 2009 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. Born in Harrisburg on May 26, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Emma (Zimmerman) Stober. She was a graduate of John Harris High School and Central Penn Business School. A member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Lancaster, Fannye was very active in various church activities in her younger years. She loved to play cards and played in two bridge clubs for many years. She was employed by Armstrong World Industries as a receptionist in their research center. After retirement, Fannye became involved in volunteer work with the Red Cross and Meals on Wheels. One of her greatest joys was cooking and baking for friends and family. She was the wife of the late William R. Kahl who died in 1998. Her first husband, William K. Pindar, Sr., died in 1953. She is survived by two daughters: Joan P., wife of John Gaylord, Austin, TX; Carol A. Pindar, Holmes, PA; a step-daughter: Charlene, wife of Tony Johnson, Mullica Hill, NJ; two grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, William K. Pindar, Jr. and a granddaughter, Deborah Gentil. Private Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
