Funeral Service: Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at 11:00 AM


EDWARD E. BERKEBILE, Sr.
Edward E. Berkebile, Sr., 85, of Elizabethtown, passed away at his home in Elizabethtown. Born in Somerset County, he was the son of the late Norman L., Sr. and Pearl Umberger Berkebile. He was the husband of the late Romaine Patrick Berkebile who died in 2005. Prior to retiring, Mr. Berkebile was employed by Rogele Construction Company where he worked as a superintendent. He was a US Airmy Air Corps Veteran of WWII and was a life member of the Grantville VFW. He was a member of Hanoverdale Church of the Brethren, the National Rifle Association, Sheriff's Association and Fraternal Order of Police. He was preceded in death by a brother: Norman L. Berkebile, Jr. He is survived by three sons: Edward E., Jr., husband of Debbra Berkebile, Harrisburg; Dale R., husband of Sheila Berkebile, Mill Hall; and Roger L., husband of Carolyn Berkebile, Hummelstown; six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; a step-sister: Jeanie Siets; a half brother: Kenneth Berkebile and half-sister: Norma Corkle. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at Miller/Sekely Funeral Services, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown at 11:00 AM. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6:30-8:30 and on Tuesday from 10:00 until the time of service. Interment will take place in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
