Funeral Service: Wednesday, Deptember 30, 2009 at 11:00 AM


ELIZABETH E. LONGENECKER
Elizabeth E. Longenecker, 89, of Elizabethtown, passed into the presence of her Savior on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at her home. Born in Middletown, she was the daughter of the late David Z. and Susie Ebersole Miller. She was the wife of the late John G. Longenecker who died in 1998. Mrs. Longenecker was a member of Word of Life Chapel in Bainbridge where she participated in the Senior Adult program. She, along with her late husband John, owned and operated Longenecker's Hatchery in Elizabethtown for 40 years. Elizabeth was an avid reader, and enjoyed flowers and gardening. Her greatest joys, however, were spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren and supporting christian ministries. She is survived by five children: Mildred F., wife of Donald Hilsher, Elizabethtown; Marilyn L., wife of Larry King, Bainbridge; Mary Anne, wife of John A. Brubaker, Elizabethtown; Marnetta J., wife of Michael Roth, Mount Joy; and Rev. J. Robert, husband of Barbara J. Longenecker, Bethany; 15 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. Mrs. Longenecker was the last of 11 children. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at Word of Life Chapel, 139 Wickersham Road, Bainbridge at 11:00 AM. Viewing will take place at the church on Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:30 PM and on Wednesday morning from 10:00-10:45 AM. Interment will be in Mount Tunnel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wayne-Pike Child Evangelism Fellowship, PO Box 628, Honesdale, PA 18431.
