RONALD L. FELTY
Ronald L. Felty, 59, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2009 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Carlisle, he was the son of Helen (Witmer) Felty of Carlisle and the late Glenn Felty. Ronald graduated from Elizabethtown College in 1971 and obtained his CPA certification in 1973. He was employed by international accounting firm, Laventhol & Horwath for three years before founding his own firm, Felty & Co, LLP in 1974. In addition to his CPA firm, Ronald was part owner and president of a group of hospitality and tourist related companies in Gettysburg, PA and Everglades National Park in Florida; and managing partner of various real estate partneships throughout Pennsylvania and Florida. Ronald was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Abraham C. Treichler Lodge #682, F&AM, Elizabethtown. In addition to his business interests, Ronald had a great enthusiasm for farming, hunting and gardening. He is survived by his four children: Amanda Comperchio of Arlington, MA; Jessica Wenger of New Providence; Alex Felty of Elizabethtown and Max Felty of Gettysburg; five grandchildren; and his loving companion, Elizabeth Martin. A Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends are invited to a reception celebrating Ronald's life on Friday, November 6, 2009 at Four Seasons, 949 Church Street, Landisville, PA 17538 at 5:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Gettysburg National Military Park, Gettysburg Foundation, 1195 Baltimore Pike, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
