Memorial Service: Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at 7:30 PM

JAMES "BIG JIM" BECKLEY
James Von "Big Jim" Beckley, 67, of Middletown, passed away at home on Friday, December 4, 2009. Born in Johnstown, he was the son of the late Fredrick H. and Clara A. (Loughner) Beckley. He was the husband of the late June (Haas) Beckley who died in March 2005. Jim was retired from MS Hershey Medical Center where he was employed in HVAC Maintenance. He was a life-member of Mount Joy VFW, Middletown Moose, Middletown American Legion, Middletown Anglers & Hunters and Middletown Rescue. Mr. Beckley also served for four years in the US Marines. He enjoyed the outdoors and fishing. Jim is survived by two daughters: Tracy, wife of Robert Schaeffer, Mount Joy; Kimberly, wife of Samuel Jacoby, Marietta; four step-children: Robert K. Leathe, West Middlesex; Cindy A., wife of Keith Kuehl, Cedar Rapids, IA; Karen E., wife of Ray Zeiters, Middletown and David M. Leathe, Middletown; 19 grandchildren, four great grandchildren; a brother: Terry, husband of Carol Beckley and a sister: Cheryl, wife of Tom Gwinn. A Memorial Service will take place on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at Miller/Sekely Funeral Services, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown at 7:30 PM. There will be no viewing. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:30 until the time of service. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 1513 Cedar Cliff Drive, Suite 100, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
