Carey L. Hiestand

Carey L. Hiestand, 40, of Elizabethtown, ran into the arms of Jesus on October 31, 2017.  She passed peacefully at Penn State Health, Milton Hershey Medical Center.  Carey graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Applied Behavioral Science from Penn State Harrisburg in 2004.  She was the President of the Lion Ambassadors and earned the Outstanding Senior Award for her class.

At her passing, Carey continued her lifelong devotion of helping others by honoring her wishes of being an organ donor to save the lives of others.  Her kind, compassionate and gracious heart will continue to help others.  Through Gift of Life her donation is saving lives and helping with critical research to benefit individuals facing health challenges. 

Carey is survived by her parents, Nevin and Hope Hiestand of Elizabethtown; sister, Denise Shenigo, nieces Madison and McKenzie of Marietta; brother, Toby Hiestand and his wife Tara, niece Maizy, nephew Toby Lee of Trout Run; fiancé, Stephen Snyder of Elizabethtown; and many other extended family who were dear to her.

A life celebration will be held at The Gathering Place, 6 Pine St., Mount Joy 17552 on Sunday, November 12, 2017 from 1-4 PM.  A service will be held at 1:30 PM with fellowship to follow.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, www.finkenbinderfamily.com.
