Debra Ann (Debbie) Peterson, 60, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 following a courageous battle with breast cancer. Born August 9, 1957 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and Angeline (Iobbi) Armetta. Debbie was the beloved wife of Bradley S. Peterson, whom she married July 1, 2006.
Debbie was employed as the Textbook Manager at the Elizabethtown College Store and was also sole proprietor of Words Words Words, a transcription company. She was a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and attended Broward County Community College. Debbie loved butterflies and the beach. She also enjoyed reading, traveling, flowers, chocolate and was an active volunteer in her community, always reaching out to help others. What she loved most was her family and the time she had to spend with them, especially her granddaughter, Ellie.
In addition to her husband Brad, Debbie is survived by two daughters: Kristen Cella and husband Matthew of San Francisco, CA; Jennifer Speth and husband Nicholas of Milan, MI; two stepsons: Adam Peterson of Elizabethtown; Aaron James Peterson of Memphis, TN; a granddaughter, Eloise Aurelia Cella; and two sisters; Angela Clouse and husband Joseph of San Diego, CA, and Donna Pruner and husband Mason of Coral Springs, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Ross Armetta.
Debbie’s love, compassion and vibrancy permeated our community and she enjoyed the fruits of a life well-lived. Debbie will be remembered as someone who dedicated her life to her family. She was a loving, caring wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother, and a friend who will be dearly missed.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on August 28 at Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 from 7 to 9 pm. Service and interment will take place at the convenience of the family.
