Dennis Richard Nettke

Dennis Richard Nettke, 71, of Columbia, passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Hamilton Arms Center in Lancaster. Born Friday, December 27, 1946 in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Phyllis Nettke. He was married to the late Barbara Anne (Fryberger) who died in 2009.

A US Navy veteran of Vietnam, he worked in maintenance for rental properties and also as a truck driver. Dennis was a frequent commuter by foot and public transportation in Columbia and Lancaster, and had the opportunity to meet with many people, earning him the moniker of “The Saint of Lancaster”. Earlier, Dennis had been active with Grace Lutheran Church, Lancaster.

He is survived by two sons: Mark D. Nettke and wife Cindy of Villa Rica, GA and Kerrick S. Nettke and wife Tracey of New Providence; three grandchildren, three step grandchildren, three step great grandchildren and a brother Michael Glasser of Conestoga.

A committal service with Military Honors will be held on Friday, September 28, 2018 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Route 934, Annville, PA 17003 at 2:00 PM. Please arrive at the cemetery no later than 1:45 PM. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.FinkenbinderFamily.com
