Dora Irene (Hockenberry) Dean

Dora I. (Hockenberry) Dean, 83, of Maytown and formerly of Elizabethtown, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 17, 2017 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy.  Born Monday, September 25, 1933 in Flinton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Mathias and Malinda (Good) Hockenberry.  She was married to Arthur R. Dean, Sr. for over 21 years until his death on November 2, 2013. 

She is survived by a son, David A. Craun, of Elizabethtown; a daughter, Naomi I., wife of David C. Sherrid, of Mount Joy as well as 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, July 28, 2017 at Conoy Brethren In Christ Church, 1722 Bainbridge Road, Elizabethtown, PA  17022 with Pastor Al Frank officiating.  Visitation will follow the service on Friday.  Private burial will be at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements have been entrusted with the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022, 717-367-1543.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dora’s honor may be made to Conoy Brethren In Christ Church.
