Edgar Hostetter Obituary

Edgar E. Hostetter, 100, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Elizabeth Manor. Born Monday, February 10, 1919 in Lawn, he was the son of the late Jamie Leroy and Jennie May (Geib) Hostetter.  Edgar was the husband of the late Betty Jane (Herr) Hostetter.

Edgar was retired from the former Klein Chocolate Factory in Elizabethtown. He was a US Army veteran of WWII, where he served as an ambulance and light truck driver. He was the oldest member of Conoy Brethren in Christ Church, Elizabethtown. He also enjoyed training beagles and was an avid fisherman.

Edgar is survived by four children: Helen Hostetter, Elizabethtown; Harold Hostetter (Veletta), Branson, MO; David Hostetter (Donna), Lewistown and Donald Hostetter, Mount Joy; six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren, and three siblings: Nancy Hostetter, Glen Hostetter and James Hostetter.

Viewing will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown from 10:00 AM until our departure for the cemetery at 11:00 AM. Interment with a graveside service will be held in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens, Columbia.
