Gaila Marie (Becker) Fitzwater

Gaila Marie (Becker) Fitzwater, 63, of Bainbridge, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Hershey Medical Center. Born Saturday, April 17, 1954 in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Jay Kenneth and Bertha May (Hevel) Becker.

Gaila was a 1972 graduate of Elizabethtown Area High School and retired from Elizabethtown College in 2016. She was a member and Past Regent of the Women of the Moose, and was a member of the America Legion Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary, all of Elizabethtown. She loved animals and will be dearly missed by her dog Lucy.

She is survived by a daughter Danielle M. Adams of Indianapolis, IN; a son Amos J. Strickler and his wife Jane of Virginia Beach, VA; three grandchildren: Stephen J. Strickler, Theresa A. Strickler and Mavrick D. Adams; and a sister Joanne L. Kirchmer and her husband Everett of Elizabethtown.

She was predeceased by a grandson Dakota Adams and a sister Sharon Becker.

Services will be scheduled at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Gaila’s memory to your local Humane Society.
