James P. Heisey, Sr.

James P. Heisey, Sr., 76, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2017 at the Hershey Medical Center.  Born Monday, March 17, 1941 in Columbia, he was the son of the late Goldean Heisey.  He was married to Monnie Ann (Seitz) Heisey.

A Veteran, Jim proudly served with the U.S. Army.  He retired after 25 years from New Standard Corporation and received a perfect attendance certificate upon his retirement as he never missed a day of work nor was he ever late for work.

He was an avid fisherman and was also a member of the Dela-Ches Fishing Association.

In addition to his wife, Monnie, of Elizabethtown, he is survived by three children: James P. Heisey, Jr. and wife, Wendy, of Elizabethtown; Tony E. Heisey and wife, Kelly, of Marietta and Kim M. Ackerman, of Elizabethtown.  Also surviving is a stepdaughter, Wendy Engle and husband, Ken, of Manheim; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Buzzendore, of Manheim; six grandchildren: Brandon and Jason Heisey; Makenna Heisey and Kayla, William and Alexander Ackerman and step-grandchildren, Kenny and Kelly Engle.

Private interment will take place at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements have been entrusted with the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022, 717-367-1543. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jim’s memory to the Youth Fishing Derby at Dela-Ches Fishing Association, 5450 Elizabethtown Road, Palmyra, PA  17078.
