Jason Robert Dowhower

Jason R. Dowhower, 40, of Elizabethtown, died on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in Londonderry Township.  Born Wednesday, December 20, 1978, in Manheim, PA, he was the son of Chickie M. (Long) Dowhower and the late Patrick V. Dowhower Sr.  He was married to Megan (Bretz) Dowhower on November 17, 2012.

Jason drove dump truck for 20 years. He worked for his mother at CD and Sons Trucking llc. He loved riding 4wheelers and going on spontaneous trips with his family. When he wasn't working you could find him tinkering on one of his many "toys". He also enjoyed spending time with his son, be it playing video games, making home-improvements, to teaching him secret recipes. When he wanted to unwind you could always find Jason around the bonfire listening to music and having fun playing with his pets. Jason was an avid hunter and fisher but also enjoyed spending time outdoors. 

Jason was well known and loved by all that he met. He made a lasting impression on everyone, whether it was because of his hardworking nature or his cheerful personality. Jason was always willing to help anyone and everyone no matter what the situation was.  Above all, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, son and friend.

In addition to his wife of nearly 7 years and companion of 16 years, he is survived by a son, Jason “JJ” Dowhower, Jr., both of Elizabethtown.  Also surviving is his mother, Chickie Dowhower, his stepfather, Ron Obenstine and his brother, Patrick Dowhower Jr., all of Elizabethtown, as well as Jason’s extended family and caring friends.

A funeral service will be held at 4 PM on Friday, November 1, 2019, at the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022, 717-367-1543.  There will be a viewing held from 2 PM until the time of the service on Friday.  Private interment will be at the convenience of the family.
