Jean Katharyn (Maschal) Dent of Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, was called home by her Heavenly Father on August 24, 2019 at the age of 94 years. Jean was born in Bloomsburg, PA on March 27, 1925 to Roy and Katharyn (Yeager) Maschal. She is predeceased by her husband of 75 years, Frederick Grant Dent.
She is survived by two daughters: Sandra L. Nelson and son-in-law Rev. Richard E. Nelson of San Antonio, TX, and Linda K. Yohn and son-in-law Lee A. Yohn of Mechanicsburg, PA; four grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was a 69 year member of the Order of Eastern Star of New Jersey, and was active in her church and community, volunteering with the Tri-County Branch of the Association for the Blind, the Central Pennsylvania Literacy Council, the Ecumenical Food Pantry, and with CONTACT, Harrisburg.
A celebration of Jean’s life will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at John S. Sell Memorial Chapel, Masonic Village, Elizabethtown at 3:00 PM. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until the time of service. Interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery will take place at the convenience of the family.
