Jean Elizabeth (Derr) Ulrich

Jean Elizabeth (Derr) Ulrich of Elizabethtown passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 with daughters by her side.  She was predeceased in 1993 by her loving husband of 50 years, Sylvester, “Wess” Ulrich.  She was born in Mount Joy, Pa., the daughter of the late Charles Z. and Fanny Drace Derr.

Prior to being a homemaker, Jean was employed as a secretary at Olmstead Air Force Base, Middletown and Elizabethtown Children’s Hospital.

She and Wess were avid dancers and belonged to several dance clubs.  Jean loved their Saturday pinochle games with friends and was a very competitive player.  Family gatherings brought her great joy.

She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Elizabethtown.

She is survived by two daughters, Sandra J. wife of James R. Koser, Elizabethtown and Peggy L. Groff, Lancaster; three grandchildren, Sharon Koser Muscarella, wife of John Muscarella, Leesburg, Va., Tracey A. Groff, Lancaster and David A. Koser husband of Alana Groff, Lancaster; three great grandchildren, Alyssa N., Lindsey R. and Nicholas D. Koser of Lancaster.  In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by two sisters, Ruth Gruber and Helen Keene.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Friday March 24, 2017 at Historic St. Peter Church, Park Street and Cherry Alley, Elizabethtown, PA (behind the Post Office).  A time of visitation will be held at the church at 1:30 PM until the time of the Mass. Interment will be in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery.

If desired memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Historic St. Peter Catholic Church and mailed to St. Peter Catholic Church, 1840 Marshall Drive., Elizabethtown, PA. 17022.
