Joan L. (Koser) Bryan, 77, a resident of the Mennonite Home, Lancaster, and formerly of Bainbridge, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born February 9, 1941 in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Jay M. Koser and Evelyn D. Stahl. She was married to the love of her life, Earl J. “Jim” Bryan for over 57 years until his death on November 29, 2016.
Joan was a graduate of Donegal High School and retired from Armstrong World Industries in 2000. After retirement, she enjoyed working outside, especially in her flowerbeds and attended Word of Life Chapel, Bainbridge. Above all, she will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by a daughter, Jamie, wife of Thomas Myers, Mifflinburg and a son, Patrick J. Bryan, husband of Melissa, Manheim. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Holly, Tommy, Kelly, Justin, Patrick and Matthew; three great grandchildren: Mason, Annie and Wesley; a sister, Shirley Sears, Lancaster and a brother, Herb Stahl, husband of Sue, Wernersville. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Koser.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, 717-367-1543. A visitation and viewing will be held from 10 AM until the time of service. Private burial will take place in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens, Columbia.
