Joan M. Hockenberry, 86, of Bainbridge has passed surrounded by family.
She is survived by her three children: Judy A. Stoutzenberger of Rheems; Brenda L. Keim (Phil Pupo) of Mount Joy and L. David Hockenberry (Mary Kay) of Elizabethtown; four grandchildren: Brenda Jo, Dwight, Kelly and Kristi and six great grandchildren.
Joan was preceded in death by a grandson David, a great granddaughter, a sister and a brother.
Joan was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, and after raising her children, Joan graduated from Cosmetology school. She owned and operated Joan’s Beauty Shop in Bainbridge and was able to give one final haircut two months ago. For the last eight years she resided with her granddaughter Brenda Jo. She enjoyed watching and listening to the Bainbridge Band.
Special thank you to Caregivers America for the care they provided over the years. Joan shared a special bond with Vicki and was fortunate to have her there up until the end.
A celebration of Joan’s life will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown at 11:00 AM. There will be no viewing. Family visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place in Bainbridge Cemetery.
