John Samuel Plott, Jr.

John S. Plott, Jr., 61, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at his home in Elizabethtown following a courageous battle with cancer.  Born Monday, September 5, 1955 in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late John S. Plott, Sr. and Frances F. (Napoli) Plott.  He was married to Betty Ann (Price) Plott on May 14, 1983.

A Veteran of the Vietnam War, John proudly served with the U.S. Air Force.  He also served as a firefighter for over 32 years with both the Londonderry Fire Department and the Elizabethtown Fire Department.  While volunteering with the Elizabethtown Fire Department, John held various ranks, retiring as the Assistant Chief.

In addition to his wife of over 34 years, he is survived by a son, John E. Plott (Kathy) of Coatesville and two sisters, Loretta Fink (Harry), of Middletown and Marianne “Mare” Baltimore (Anthony), of Alexandria, VA.  He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard J. Plott.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022, 717-367-1543.  Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of the service.  Private burial will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John’s honor to the Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
