Kreszenz "Cindy" S. (Birzele) Gibble

Kreszenz S. “Cindy” (Birzele) Gibble, 83, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Elizabethtown on Sunday, November 11, 2018.  Born in Augsburg, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Johann and Kreszenz (Schmidt) Birzele.  She was married to J. Richard “Dick” Gibble for over 59 years.  Dick preceded her in death on Friday, October 26, 2018.

She worked at Elizabethtown Area School District and various farmers markets and was affectionately known as the “German Lady”.  She cherished the visits from her family in Germany this past summer, especially from her niece, Toni Granz.  She was also very fond of all animals.

She is survived by four children: Daniel J. Gibble (Darlene), Richard J. Gibble (Dawn), Diane E. Crum (James) and Rebecca S. Hewitson (Jeffrey).  Also surviving are 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and a sister, Helga, of Germany as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen A. Weaber.

Visitation will be held at the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022, 717-367-1543 on Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 4:00-5:00 PM.  Private interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kreszenz’ memory to the Humane League of Lancaster County.
