M. Manon (Shaffer) Duck

M. Manon (Shaffer) Duck, 80, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. Born Monday, March 21, 1938 in Curwensville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Cleo S. and Catherine E. (James) Shaffer. She was married 62 years to E. Eugene Duck of Elizabethtown.

A 1955 graduate of Clearfield High School, Manon worked for Donecker’s in Ephrata and 32 years in advertising for Engle Publishing Co., in Mount Joy. She also volunteered at Masonic Village Hospice and attended St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Elizabethtown. Manon loved traveling and reading.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children: Cynthia Ann Eckman of Marietta; Sandra Kay Winters (Bruce) of Elizabethtown and Daniel Eugene Duck (Janet) of Hershey; six grandchildren: Tyler Bruce Winters (Emily), Travis Eugene Winters (Emily), Chelsea Manon Winters, Isaiah Duck, Olivia Duck and Elijah Duck; and two great grandchildren: Nolan Winters and Audrey Winters.

Manon was preceded in death by a sister Ann Gill.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 18, 2019 at John S. Sell Memorial Chapel, Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 at 2:00 PM. Viewing will be from 1:00 PM until the time of service. Interment will take place in Mount Tunnel Cemetery, Elizabethtown.
