Marie B. (Heeter) Massa

Marie B. Massa, of Masonic Village, formerly of Orange Street, Elizabethtown, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at the Masonic Health Care Center. Born in Todd Township, Huntingdon County, on September 19, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Rebecca Heeter. She was married 42 years to Carl A. Massa who passed away in March 2006.

Marie graduated from Elizabethtown High School in 1946, after graduation she worked at the Masonic Homes for the Chief Engineer’s office until 1959, and then for Dr. Donald Fink, Podiatrist.

Marie was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church for 53 years where she volunteered in lots of capacities, and Elizabethtown Chapter #407, Order of Eastern Star for 50 years, where she served on the Paraphernalia Committee for 34 years.

Marie enjoyed spending time with her family, crafts, shorthand, visiting, and most importantly helping others.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Earle in 1930.

Marie is survived by a daughter Rebecca, wife of Michael Maxwell, and granddaughter Laura Marie who she was extremely proud of, all of Elizabethtown, a sister Anna Louise Smith, and nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2018 from St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 398 North Locust Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 at 11:00 AM. Friends may call on Wednesday evening at Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown from 6:00-8:00 PM and on Thursday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service. An Eastern Star service will be conducted by Elizabethtown Chapter #407 OES, Elizabethtown on Wednesday at 7:30 PM. Interment will take place in Mount Tunnel Cemetery, Elizabethtown.
