Michael J. “Mike” Hostetter, 38, of Bainbridge, passed away on April 9, 2018 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born Thursday, January 17, 1980 in Lancaster, he was the son of Gordon and Donna (Thompson) Hostetter of Mount Joy. He was married five years to Alicia J. (Vuxta) Hostetter.
A 1998 graduate of Donegal High School, he was employed as an industrial electrician with Hertzler Electric for 18 years. Mike enjoyed four wheeling, hunting, modifying his Suburban and whatever his daughter was involved in. He was a “baton dad”, and it was not unusual for him to be carrying hairspray and lipstick in his pockets. Mike was an avid Oakland Raiders fan, and Sunday’s were always filled with football and crockpot food. He also loved his dogs Ruger and Gauge.
In addition to his parents and beloved wife Alicia, Mike is survived by two daughters Lily J. and Sophie J. Hostetter; paternal grandmother Ruth Justice of Elizabethtown; Uncle Doug and his wife Tammy of Mount Joy; cousin Joshua Painter of Elizabethtown; father in law and mother in law Jeffrey W. and Tammy J. Vuxta of Elizabethtown; brother in law Brad Vuxta and his wife Jackie; niece Brooklyn and nephews Noah and Ryder.
A celebration of Mike's life will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at the Elizabethtown Moose, 18 North Market Street, Elizabethtown from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.FinkenbinderFamily.com
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the education trust fund for Lily and Sophie that will be set up in the coming weeks.
