Paul Richard Williams, Sr., 86, of Elizabethtown passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at ManorCare, Elizabethtown. He was born Friday, May 15, 1931 in Highspire to the late Chester O. Williams and Mary (Heir) Williams. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 62 years, Marie Elizabeth (Bostdorf) Williams.
He is survived by 2 children, Lori Funck and husband Joey and Paul R. “Rick” Williams, Jr. and wife Mary; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 3 siblings. He was predeceased by 5 siblings.
Paul proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a born teacher, teaching auto body, paint, and welding at Thaddeus Stevens Trade School in Lancaster. He was a faithful member of Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren. Paul was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, camping, and deep sea fishing. He took great pleasure in singing, but the thing he enjoyed the most was being with his loving wife and family.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 11 AM at Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren, 777 S. Mt. Joy St., Elizabethtown 17022 with Pastor Pam Reist officiating. Family and friends are invited for viewing from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, September 13th at Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 N. Market St., Elizabethtown 17022 and on Thursday (9/14) at the church from 10 AM until time of the service. Burial will follow services in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens, Columbia.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren.
