Richard D. Good

Richard D. Good, 93, formerly of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at St. Anne’s Retirement Community, Columbia.  Born Tuesday, March 20, 1923 in New Holland, PA, he was the son of the late Amos and Arminta (Harsh) Good.  He was married to Vivian E. (Sumrell) Good for over 65 years.

A Veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict, Richard proudly served with the U.S. Marine Corps for 10 years.  Following his military service, Richard taught at Bainbridge, Elizabethtown and Rheems elementary schools for nearly 30 years.

In addition to his wife, Vivian, of Elizabethtown, he will be lovingly missed by two daughters: Barbara A. Querry and husband, Joseph, of Bainbridge; Sandra D. Kopp and husband Kenneth, of Myerstown as well as three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The family of Mr. Good would like to extend a special thank you to St. Anne’s Retirement Community for the care and compassion given to Richard and his family over the past several years.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022, 717-367-1543.  There will be a viewing held at the funeral home from 10 AM until the time of the service on Thursday.  Burial will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA with full military honors.
