Roy Edgar Manahan, 95, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2019 at Elizabeth Manor. Born Saturday, November 24, 1923 in Mount Pleasant Twp., Adams County, he was the son of the late Walker G. and Mabel (Nichols) Manahan. He was the husband of Mary (Snyder) Manahan who passed away in July 1984.
Roy was the oldest member of Milton Grove United Methodist Church in Mount Joy. He was employed over 40 years at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown as a landscaper and in the orchard, retiring in 1989. An avid hunter, he was a life member of the Conewago Rod & Gun Club, and also enjoyed watching bull riding.
He is survived by four children: Shirley Yoder and husband Rodney of Port Royal; Ken Manahan of Elizabethtown; Terry Manahan and wife Ruby, and Craig Manahan and wife Katie, all of North Carolina; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Roy was predeceased by two daughters: Donna Culbertson and Vicki Grunden; a granddaughter Mary Jane Culbertson, and two sisters: Marian Manahan and Erma Althoff.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 24, 2019 at Milton Grove United Methodist Church, 2026 Cloverleaf Road, Mount Joy, PA 17552 at 11:00 AM. Viewing will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg. The family is requesting that those attending dress casual.
