Shirley Ann (Heckert) Rutherford

Shirley Ann (Heckert) Rutherford, 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Brookdale Grandon Farms, Mechanicsburg.  Born Wednesday, March 20, 1935 in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Mary (Boyer) Heckert.

She is survived three sons: J. Michael Rutherford and wife, Catherine, of Dillsburg; Jeffrey E. Rutherford and wife, Chris, of Berkeley Springs, WV and David L. Rutherford & Mimi Beck, of Lititz.  Also surviving are 9 grandchildren: Andrew Rutherford and wife, Cheryl; Kevin Rutherford and wife, Danielle; Zach Rutherford with Miranda McFadden; Hunter, Emily, Tanner and Landon Rutherford; Jordan Rutherford and wife, Ellie; Chelsea  Rutherford and fiancé Colin Plank; 6 great grandchildren: Sadie, Julian, Drew, Beau, Bailey and Kayden Rutherford as well as her niece Sharon Hawthorne and nephew Steven Hawthorne and wife Tracy of Elizabethtown.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty (Heckert) Hawthorne & a daughter-in-law, Tracy Rutherford

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022, 717-367-1543.  There will be a viewing held from 10 AM until the time of the service on Thursday.  Burial will follow in Mount Tunnel Cemetery, Elizabethtown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Shirley’s honor to a charity of one’s choice.
