Wilbur Koser, 95, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 29, 2019 at the Paramount Senior Living, Maytown. He was born Tuesday, July 31, 1923 to the late David H. Koser and Mary Susan Hawthorne. He is predeceased by his loving wife E. Arlene Sentz Koser since 2008.
A proud Army WWII veteran Wilbur continued his career as a union and self-employed carpenter who took part in building his church, schools, and nursing homes. He was a charter member of his church and always had a passion for supporting veterans, sick or children in need, and his church. Most importantly he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother.
Wilbur is survived by his children: Karen Stahley and husband Don, Lynne Weitzel, Brenda Saylor and husband Dan, Barry Koser and wife Ellen, Dennis Koser, Donald Koser and wife Sue; daughter-in-law, Lois Koser; 19 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; sister Jean Fisher; and sister-in-law Christine Sentz. He is predeceased by his son, Jeffrey Koser, and siblings Dorothy Frazer, Edna Landis, Mary Martin, Esther Aldinger, Florence Gibble, Erma Kreider, Victor Koser, David Koser, and Fanny Buckwalter.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 7th, 2019 at 10 AM at the Grace Brethren Church, 305 Anchor Rd., Elizabethtown, PA 17022 with Pastor Jeff Hoffard and Pastor Tim Placeway officiating. A time of viewing will be held from 9 AM until the start of the service and also on Monday, May 6th from 5-7 PM also at the church. Burial will follow the service on Tuesday at West Green Tree Cemetery, Elizabethtown with military honors.
