Betsy Benner Obituary

Betsy (Brady) Benner, 68, formerly of Middletown, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 25th, 2020 at UPMC Pinnacle West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg. Born Monday, August 20th, 1951, in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Ruth (Updegraff) Brady. She was married to Herb D. Benner, Jr. for over 51 years.

Betsy retired from Hershey Foods where she worked as an assistant to the chef. She loved to cook for her friends and family. Some dishes she's known for are macaroni salad, potato salad and sloppy joes. You could always count on getting a package of leftovers if you stopped by.

Betsy spent most of her life taking care of her daughter Billi Jo. She dedicated her life to make a life for Billi Jo, wherever Betsy was-you could count on Billi Jo to be right by her side.

Betsy loved the little things in life. Some past times Betsy enjoyed were spending a long weekend at the river with her kids, grandchildren and friends. For 20 years that was her happy place. She would make canvases for everyone! How many people actually have one of her holiday trains? Or something she made by hand? She could make anything from knitted trains to blankets. She loved plants. She would grow her own, bring life to withered plants and share plant babies!

In addition to her husband, Herb, of Sherman's Dale, she is survived by her three daughters: Billi Jo, Bobbi Jo, companion of Barry Reigle and Tammy Jo, companion of Todd Shade. Betsy has four granddaughters: Ashley, Courtney, Ricki, and Keira. Betsy also has four great grandchildren: Claire Ann, Parker Jay, Brynn Lee, and a little one due in August. Betsy also has a big extended family and many close and caring friends.
