Catherine P. (Chestnut) Keim

Catherine P. (Chestnut) Keim, 98, formerly of Middletown, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 3, 2020, at UPMC Pinnacle Community Osteopathic Hospital, Harrisburg.  Born Monday, June 19, 1922, in Union Deposit and raised in Royalton, she was the daughter of the late Harvey E. and Ruth (Jones) Chestnut.  She was married to Paul D. Keim for over 50 years until his death on July 19, 1992.

A homemaker for most of her life, Catherine was a member of Valley Baptist Church, Middletown.  She enjoyed word searches, sewing, baseball, dogs and collecting teddy bears.  Above all, she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.

She is survived by two daughters: Becky Zeone, of Rochester, NY and Susan Cooper, married to Lawrence, of Harrisburg.  Also surviving are two granddaughters: Michele (McQuaid) Reiber, married to Michael, of Jonestown and Jennifer (Zeone) Kruse, married to Jeremy, of Rochester, NY; two great granddaughters, Michaela Rankin and Jenna Reiber, both of Jonestown, as well as Catherine’s extended family and caring friends.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters: Betty Williams, Caroline Updegraff and Margaret Estep as well as three brothers: Donald, Marlin and Clyde Chestnut.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.  Private burial will take place in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg.  Arrangements have been entrusted with the Fager-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 208 North Union Street, Middletown, PA  17057, 717-944-7413.
