Elvira "Vera" Cardimona Obituary

Elvira "Vera" M. (Miceli) Cardimona, 94, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 10, 2020 at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey.  She was born Saturday, July 31, 1926 in Wilkes-Barre to the late Dominic and Anna (LaCorta) Miceli.  She was predeceased on Thursday, August 4, 2016 by her loving husband William Cardimona to whom she married on Saturday, May 3, 1945.

 

Elvira loved nothing more than to be surrounded with family, friends, and good food.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

 

She is survived by her children: Anne C. Schreiber and husband G. William, Janice L. Carroll and husband Patrick T., and Edward V. and husband Todd Blumenthal; grandchildren, Weston E. Schreiber and wife Abby B., Marcella K. Schreiber, and Tyler J. Cardimona; great grandchildren, Olive A. Schreiber and Emory M. Schreiber.  She is predeceased by a son William J. Cardimona and nine siblings.

 

Services will be private at the convenience of the family on Thursday, August 20, 2020.  Burial will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
