Eugene E. Louer, Sr., 85, of Middletown, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Chambersburg Hospital. Born, Sunday, December 2, 1934 in Middletown, he was the son of the late Eugene and Mary Ellen (Mickey) Louer. He was married 63 years to Donna L. (Garber) Louer.
Eugene, also known as “Gene”, “Red” or “Pick”, was retired from Bethlehem Steel where he worked as a welder for over 40 years. A US Navy veteran of the Korean War, he also served as Fire Chief for Middletown Borough. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and woodworking.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons: Eugene E. Louer, Jr. and wife Donna; Gary A. Louer and wife Cathy and Kristopher A. Louer, all of Middletown; three grandchildren: Marissa, Eugene, III and Morgan Louer; two great grandchildren: Jayana and Braya; and one brother: Robert Louer, Sr. and wife Helen of Middletown.
Eugene was predeceased by a brother Terry Louer, Sr.
